The Profoto D1 Air 1000 w/s Monolight is a significant refinement of the ComPact monolight series from the company which having become synonymous with professional strobe lighting, is now celebrating its 40th anniversary. This D1 Air 1000 w/s 2-Light Studio Kit includes 2 D1 Air 1000 monolights, 2-D1 Small White Umbrellas, 2-D1 Light Stands, 1-D1 Studio Kit Case and a Profoto Air Remote. No stone has been left unturned in the provision of tech and convenience features that seem to derive from professional photographers feet wish lists. The sleek matte-black, high-impact polycarbonate finish encases strobe design that goes beyond the highly visible LED readout and is digital from the ground up. The 7 stop power range breaks down to 1/10 stop increments providing flexibility, precision and consistency, made possible by dual mode SMPS capacitor charging. A new built-in 77 degree reflector (5.12" diameter) maximizes case space and is ideal for umbrella and softbox use. Features that we feetve come to expect from Profoto over the years: short flash duration, rapid recycling, a bright 300W modeling lamp and heavy-duty cabling are all on-board. New Profoto Air System technology replaces the sync cord, allowing the head to be remotely triggered from as much as 300 meters (1000 feet) away using a Profoto Air Remote (included with kit) or Air Sync transceiver (sold separately). The Air Sync provides wireless triggering (8 channels) via hot shoe or mini plug, while the Air Remote provides wireless triggering as well as full-function head control over 8 channels in 6 distinct groups. Additionally, the D1 Air feets syncing and complete functionality can be wirelessly controlled via your PC or Mac by using Profoto feets Air USB and Studio Air systems. Modeling lamp operation is user-selectable: On/Off/Proportional and Free (manual). There is also a selectable flash confirmation (dimming) feature in addition to an audible, fully-recycled tone

About the Air Remote
Now it's easy to shape and control your light from as far away as 300 m (1000 ft). Our new digital radio system, Profoto Air Remote, is built in to all Pro-8a Air generators. Complete flash control of your camera, in your hand or from your computer, including flash power and modeling light control. Control an unlimited number of generators and heads on eight channels. Profoto Air devices deliver sync signals with a very short delay, just 100 Ws in fast mode. Signal connections are made with either a hot shoe or a cable. These small, handheld devices weigh only 70 g (2.5 oz) including batteries. They pack a lot of functionality and reliability into an easy-to-use control panel.
Operating at 2.4 GHz, they are approved for worldwide use. Profoto Air systems with sync can also operate with external receivers on older generators or other brands. Profoto Air Remote Our specially designed digital radio system, Profoto Air Remote, is built in to all Pro-8a Air generators. Complete flash control at your camera or in your hand, including flash energy control and modeling light control. Control an unlimited number of generators and heads clustered in up to six groups on eight channels.

The unique built-in reflector gives you full control and minimizes stray light. It is optimized for use with softboxes, umbrellas and accepts most Profoto reflectors. Short flash duration gives images a crisp feel and the fast recycling time means that you never have to wait for the flash. You will always get the image quality you want. All this in a package that offers 1/10 f-stop control, giving you the confidence that the images will be exactly as you want them.
The Profoto Air system enables you to remote control and trigger your flash from as much as 300 meters (1000ft) and replaces the sync cable. Connect the D1 to the Profoto Air USB, for PC and Mac and gain full control of your entire studio flash system via wireless communication.
